Devil’s Claw Extract Plant Source
Is derived from the root or whole herb of the perennial herbaceous plant Devil’s Claw of the Pedaliaceae family in southern Africa.
Devil’s Claw has large hooked fruits,
which can reach 15 cm in diameter,
and has several rows of curved arm-like structures on them.
Each arm has multile hooks that bend backwards,
hence the name “Devil’s Claw”,
which means “devil’s claw”.
Main active ingredients
The main active ingredient of Devil’s Claw Extract is harpagoside,
also known as Devil’s Claw glycoside,
which is a cyclopentane glycoside,
which is mainly found in the secondary roots of Devil’s Claw.
