Baicalein is mainly found in the whole herb of Scutellaria altissima L., a plant of the Lamiaceae family, especially in its root. In addition, it can also be extracted from the leaves and roots of S. Scrodiifolia Fisch., the seeds and stem bark of Oroxylum indicum, a plant of the Bignoniaceae family, and the leaves of Plantago major L., a plant of the Plantaginaceae family.
